We raise Mulefoot, Tamworth, Large Black, Red Wattle and Berkshire heritage breed pigs. They have acres of pasture and woods to roam and forage in and their diet is supplemented with grain. The heritage breeds tend to forage much more than conventional breeds and this more varied diet lends itself to a healthier, tastier meat.
We rotate the pigs through pasture and forest land to help replenish the grasses and utilize their waste nutrients in growing better forage grass.
