Frolona History

The history of this land is written in every field, fence line and weathered beam — and we’re proud to be breathing new life into it. At the heart of the property stands an 1880s white farmhouse, built by Josh’s ancestors and lovingly maintained by his mother, Janie Davis. Its warm, updated charm makes it both a family home and a living piece of history.

Nearby, an old general store still holds its original wooden counter and shelves, though today they’re filled with books instead of goods. This cozy library has become a favorite place to play music or curl up with a good read.

Scattered across the land are lapboard, metal-roofed buildings — once a blacksmith shop, cotton storage sheds, and other essential structures of the sharecropping era. Many have been restored and repurposed for modern farm use, while still standing as reminders of the

community that once thrived here.

A walk through the property reveals even more of its story: arrowheads left behind by Creek tribes, a corn silo carved into a hillside, and a log cabin standing watch on a rise. Alongside these relics, you’ll find wetland restoration areas and solar panels powering the cabin — the old and new working side by side.

For over 180 years, this land has been cared for by the same family. Our mission is to honor that legacy, preserve its history, and carry the tradition of family farming into the future.
